Helping Hands Group

During the course of the year we have averaged eight calls a month for all kinds of help, ranging from transport to appointments at Doctors' surgeries and visits to opticians, etc. Also to hospital appointments where Hospital transport is unavailable, and visits to weekend Masses. The gardening team has been much in demand and doing a great job, and not just for parishioners, as we help anyone in need regardless of faith or religion. We are always repairing fences, gates and undertaking painting jobs outdoors. We are also able to put people in touch with plumbers and electricians when required. Marc, our in-store plumber, has done quite a few small plumbing jobs for Helping Hands clients unpaid. We are always willing to move pieces of furniture around and to arrange disposal of unwanted pieces. We operate a shopping rota with six people helping on this rota.

We are looking for extra help with visits to the aged and the lonely from male and female helpers, and this also applies to all the aspects of help that we give. So if you want to put something back into society, contact me Sue Fullman on 07942 373448.
